INDICATIONS:
- Cattle:
- For the control of fever and inflammation associated with mastitis, respiratory tract infections, and endotoxemia.
- For the relief of pain and inflammation related to musculoskeletal disorders.
- Horses:
- For the alleviation of inflammation and pain due to musculoskeletal disorders.
- Recommended for the management of visceral pain associated with colic.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Cattle:
- Recommended dose: 2.2 mg/kg body weight.
- Administer intravenously for antipyretic effects in acute inflammatory conditions.
- Identify and treat the underlying cause with appropriate concomitant therapy.
Horses:
- Musculoskeletal Disorders: 1.1 mg/kg body weight once daily.
- Administer intravenously or intramuscularly.
- Treatment may be continued for up to 5 days.
- Onset of action occurs within 2 hours; peak effect between 12-16 hours; duration: 24-36 hours.
- Colic-Associated Pain: 1.1 mg/kg body weight.
- Intravenous administration is recommended for rapid relief.
- Clinical response observed in under 15 minutes in many cases.
- Treatment can be repeated if signs of colic recur (about 10% of horses required 1-2 additional treatments).
- The underlying cause of colic should be diagnosed and addressed accordingly.
