Description

Pharmacological Action:

The drug’s mechanism is based on its ability to decompose in neutral to slightly acidic environments, releasing formaldehyde and ammonia. These by-products exhibit antimicrobial effects, with ammonia acting as a mild diuretic and possessing the ability to lower the barrier function of cell membranes. This facilitates the entry of toxic substances into the bloodstream, allowing for quicker elimination from the body. The therapeutic effect typically begins within 40 minutes of administration and lasts for 6 to 12 hours.

Indications for Use:

The medication serves as an antiseptic agent for a variety of animal species including cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, and poultry (hens). It is indicated for the treatment of infectious conditions such as:

  • Urinary tract infections (e.g., cystitis, pyelitis)
  • Cholecystitis
  • Neurological infections (e.g., meningitis, encephalitis, arachnoiditis)
  • Allergic skin disorders (e.g., urticaria, polymorphic erythema)
  • Ocular conditions (e.g., iridocyclitis, keratitis)
  • Toxic poisoning, toxic infections, and inflammatory conditions of muscles and joints

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Intravenous Administration:

Used 2-3 times daily for conditions such as toxic infections, mastitis, endometritis, and urinary/kidney inflammation.

  • Horses, Cattle: 1.5-2 ml per 10 kg (22 lb) of body weight
  • Sheep, Goats: 0.5-1.5 ml per 10 kg (22 lb) of body weight
  • Pigs: Administer via ear vein, 0.5-0.7 ml per 10 kg (22 lb) of body weight, 2-3 times daily

Oral Administration:

  • Dogs: 2-5 ml per animal
  • Poultry (Hens): 0.1 ml per bird

Treatment Duration:

Up to 4 days, depending on the condition and clinical response
