INDICATIONS:
LEVASAFE is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic indicated for the treatment and control of nematode infections in cattle and sheep. Effective against the following parasites:
- Lungworms: Dictyocaulus spp.
- Gastrointestinal worms: Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Ostertagia spp., Haemonchus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Chabertia spp.
CONTRAINDICATIONS & PRECAUTIONS
- Safe at the recommended dosage for cattle and sheep.
- Overdosing may lead to temporary symptoms such as muscle tremors, head shaking, and excessive salivation.
- While generally non-irritant, local site reactions may occasionally occur but usually resolve naturally.
- Accurate body weight estimation is essential before calculating the dosage.
- Safe for use in pregnant or lactating animals, though extra care is advised when treating heavily pregnant animals or animals under stress due to poor nutrition, environmental conditions, or handling.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Administer subcutaneously at the dose rate of 7.5 mg of levamisole hydrochloride per kg of body weight.
- For large volumes, divide the dose between two or more injection sites.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Do not slaughter animals for human consumption during treatment.
- Cattle: Meat– 28 days
- Sheep: Meat-15 days
