Description / Action: Metrofur Plus Suspension is a combination of Ofloxacin, Metronidazole and Simethicone for control as a supportive in treatment of diarrhoea in dogs and cats. Combination of these drugs show higher efficacy, broad spectrum antimicrobial action, least incidence of side effects and both are well tolerated. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA replication or multiplication within the bacteria preventing bacteria from reproduction. It is a broad spectrum of efficacy against Gram (+) and Gram (-) aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole with superior efficacy and a longer duration of action. It kills susceptible microorganisms by interfering with DNA functioning. Simethicone is used to treat the symptom of too much stomach acid such as stomach upset, heartburn and acid indigestion. It is also used to relieve symptoms of extra gas such as belching, bloating and feelings of pressure/discomfort in the stomach/gut. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the gut.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications / Warnings: Overdose may result in CNS toxicity, hepatotoxicity, and drooling of saliva. These side effects are observed more in cats.
